Oral Pathology & Oral Medicine
Oral Pathology and Oral Medicine
Dr. Oliver holds a Masters Degree in Oral Medicine and Oral Pathology – following completion of a full-time 3 year training program at the University of Melbourne. Our clinic has broad experience in the diagnosis and management of pathology of the head and neck region. A myriad of conditions can manifest as problems of the oral soft tissues, facial soft tissues, or underlying bones.
No stone will be left unturned in determining the underlying cause for such problems, with a speedy resolution being our goal. Of course many conditions – although benign – are chronic in nature and may require a protocol of ongoing review with us over many months or occasionally even years.
Medically Compromised Patients
Patients with a variety of underlying medical conditions may benefit from referral to a specialist Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon to help ensure that treatment is carried out with an eye to the nature of the medical condition and appropriate pre and post-treatment protocols are put in place.
Such conditions include:
1. Osteoporosis
2. Congenital and acquired cardiac disorders
3. Disseminated cancer
4. Metabolic disorders
5. Coagulation disorders
6. Psychologic disorders
7. Pregnancy
8. Significant infectious disease
9. Disorders that compromise the Immune system
We are well versed in the care of such patients and will ensure your safe passage from the start of treatment through to its completion.
