Orthognathic (Jaw) Surgery

Orthognathic Surgery

One of the most satisfying aspects of the work provided at our Clinic involves the care of patients with dentofacial deformities.

Such treatment is required when a patient's bite problem is so significant that orthodontic treatment alone ("braces") can not rectify the situation

Such work is usually performed in conjunction with the patient’s family dentist, specialist orthodontist and ourselves.

We use state-of-the-art computer assisted diagnostic and planning techniques from the KLS-Martin system to ensure an accurate approach to management.

Although traditionally carried out on patients in their late teens and early 20’s, more and more adult patients are today presenting for correction of their bite (occlusion) problems.

Dr. Oliver has performed over 1000 orthognathic surgical procedures and is considered one of the most experienced orthognathic surgeons in Australia. He completed his Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery training at the University of Texas (United States of America) and the University of Aarhus (Denmark) – regarded as two of the world’s premier training institutions for such treatment.
